Clinical & Spiritual Hypnotherapy
with Joan Hoedel
Hypnotherapy is a gentle, evidence-based way of working with the subconscious mind — the part of you that holds habits, emotional patterns, beliefs, and automatic responses.
I offer clinical and spiritual hypnotherapy for people who are ready to feel calmer, clearer, and more at home in themselves, especially when talking or “trying harder” hasn’t been enough.
If you’re curious about whether hypnotherapy is right for you, you’re in the right place.
Why Integration Is Part of the Process
Hypnotherapy often begins to open layers of awareness and healing right away. Rather than moving from session to session without pause, I intentionally build in time to integrate what has been coming forward.
Typically, after the first two hypnotherapy sessions, we spend a full session focused on integration. This is a spacious, supportive conversation where we reflect on what has emerged, tend to younger or vulnerable parts of the self that may be surfacing, and help your system make sense of the changes underway.
This integration session is not a detour — it’s an essential part of how lasting change happens. It allows insights to settle, emotional material to be gently met, and new patterns to take root before moving deeper.
From there, we continue with additional hypnotherapy sessions, returning to integration whenever it feels supportive. This rhythm helps ensure the work is not only powerful, but also grounded, sustainable, and kind to your nervous system.
1:1 Hypnotherapy
One-to-one hypnotherapy offers a private, focused space to work with the subconscious mind at your own pace. Sessions are tailored to you — your goals, your history, and what’s ready to shift.
People often seek individual hypnotherapy for increased clarity, to clear repetive painful emotional patterns, to increase confidence, for support through life transitions, or when they feel stuck despite sincere effort. Sessions are calm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your inner wisdom.
You remain aware and in control throughout the process. Hypnotherapy is a state of deep relaxation and focused attention, not sleep, and not something being done to you.
The work is a partnership. I guide you through a relaxed inner experience, ask thoughtful questions, and offer professional, compassionate support as your own inner wisdom responds. You can open your eyes at any time, and your mind will only bring forward what you are ready to explore.
While the work can be meaningful and sometimes tender, it isn’t heavy the entire time. Many people are surprised to find moments of ease, relief, and even a little laughter along the way. Most leave feeling grounded, clearer, and quietly changed.
Group Hypnotherapy
Group hypnotherapy offers a powerful and often deeply supportive way to work with the subconscious mind. While each person has their own inner experience, the shared field of intention can gently deepen the work for everyone involved.
Group sessions are different from one-to-one hypnotherapy, not less than, but different in their strengths. Groups create a meaningful container where like-minded people can share, recognize common patterns, feel supported, and experience a sense of accountability that often enhances the healing process. Many people also appreciate that group work is more accessible, and that supportive connections sometimes form naturally among participants.
In group settings, integration is woven into each session in simple, grounding ways — such as quiet reflection, journaling, shared presence, or ritualized closing, helping participants absorb what has surfaced and return to daily life with greater steadiness and insight.
Groups are thoughtfully facilitated to create an atmosphere of safety, respect, and choice. You are always invited to participate at your own comfort level, while still benefiting from the collective container.
